ValueUp

Summer cohort · Limited seats

The education we never got but our child deserves.

ValueUp is an educational platform focused on the aspects of education which are not covered formally. We provide mentorship and resources for social, emotional and analytical learning through a peer-based atmosphere for children.

Small groups of under 12 children · One mentor per group · 10–12 sessions a month

We prepare future generations for a well-balanced life after and beyond exams.

What children work on

Two tracks that run together.

Every month we focus on two skills — one from each side — through activities, sessions and journals.

Emotional Development

Helping children think about themselves clearly, so they grow into socially smart and confident adults.

  • Identify emotions
  • Manage emotions
  • Kindness
  • Empathy
  • Respect

Analytical Development

Children know their curriculum and have access to what to learn, but not the resources to know how to learn.

  • Planning skills
  • Problem solving
  • Attention span
  • Critical thinking
  • Solution-oriented mindset

… and many more aspects in the days to come

How it runs

Structure, so it actually sticks.

Parents get resources too — the work continues at home.

  • Two skills a month10–12 sessions, each month built around one emotional and one analytical skill.
  • One mentor per small groupGroups are kept under 12 children so every child is actually seen.
  • Customised journals and activitiesPrinted journals, newsletters and activity sheets made for the month's focus.
  • Weekly resources for parentsActivities you can do at home, sent every week through the cohort.
  • The reasoning, shared openlyWe explain how each activity builds a particular skill, so nothing feels like busywork.
  • Conversation startersPrompts that help you connect with your child over topics that are hard to open.

Focus for the first month

You can't build a great building on a weak foundation.

Building a strong foundation starts with the basics. Planning, and Emotions Identification and Management, are the building blocks — and a good place to start. We focus on them for the first month, with more resources sent a week after the program starts.

Analytical

Planning

Day-to-day planning and long-term planning methods can be learnt and improved. Systematic learning from a young age goes a long way.

  • Why planning matters
  • Preparing a checklist
  • Step-by-step methods to plan long term, from different perspectives
  • Organising an event or planning a party
Emotional

Emotions Identification and Management

Correctly identifying emotions in yourself and others is the basis of emotional intelligence. Correct identification leads to better management, and to better mental health.

  • Identifying different emotions and coping with overwhelming ones
  • Creating a safe space and safely seeking help
  • Book and movie recommendations, conversation starters for sensitive topics
  • How children perceive their environment as part of learning
